At the 24th International Conference on Engineering Design (ICED 2023), which took place in Bordeaux, France, between 24 – 28 July 2023, Xinhui Hu from the Design Research group (DR) was awarded both the Reviewers’ Favourite Award and Young Member’s Best Presentation Award. Xinhui’s paper centers on an innovative Virtual Reality (VR)-based empathy design approach. The research delves into the potential of empathic VR experiences to foster an experience-driven empathetic connection between designers and users, which will enable designers to more effectively understand the user needs and develop tailored solutions to address those challenges.
This commendable achievement not only highlights the Design Research group’s dedication to advancing knowledge but also establishes UBICOMP as a leading force in the realm of design science.
