UBICOMP is a partner of the NEUROCLIMA project, a three-year Research and Innovation Initiative, funded by the European Union under the Horizon Europe program (HORIZON-CL5-2023-D1-01-09) that commenced on January 1, 2024, and will run until December 31, 2026.
Amidst escalating climate challenges, the EU faces a critical need for cohesive strategies to bolster societal resilience. While citizens express concerns and policymakers propose solutions, a gap persists in understanding and trust. NEUROCLIMA aims to bridge this gap by creating a responsive nervous system. Specifically, it connects citizens, policymakers, and institutions through a blend of human-AI decision support, fostering a bidirectional relationship crucial for navigating the complexities of climate adaptation and ensuring a resilient future. Through rigorous research aligned with the EU Adaptation Strategy, NEUROCLIMA proposes engagement frameworks that consider local nuances. This continuous dialogue fosters trust, understanding, and facilitates systemic change, providing concrete recommendations for a more resilient future.
UBICOMP is responsible for developing decision making support technologies for the needs of large-scale climate-related dialogues, by adopting a knowledge-based decision-making view.
The NEUROCLIMA consortium consists of 15 partners, including universities, research institutes, and companies, pooling their efforts towards innovation in climate change adaptation and striving for excellence.
