UBISS 2018 invited researchers, students, and industry and public sector professionals to gain theoretical insight and personal hands on experience on selected topics under the tutelage of distinguished experts. UBISS 2018 continued the legacy of the previous eight successful multidisciplinary UBI Summer Schools hosted by us in Oulu in 2010-2017.

APPLICATION & ENROLLMENT

All prospective participants had to submit an online application where they provided a ranked list of preferred workshop(s). The application was forwarded to the instructors of preferred workshop(s) who selected students to their respective workshops. An applicant accepted to a particular workshop had to secure her/his seat via online registration.

Participants were enrolled to the workshops in two stages:

CLOSED: Stage 1 – Open international call

March 12, 2018: Application deadline
March 20, 2018: Notification of acceptance
April 10, 2018: Registration deadline

CLOSED: Stage 2 – Any remaining seats were handed out on first come first served basis to applications received by May 24, 2018.
